About Us
at Hadlow College

Welcome to Hadlow College - The Outstanding Land-Based College!

As a specialist, high quality, land-based college, we offer a huge range of courses to suit the needs of many different students.  Graded at our last inspection as Outstanding, we pride ourselves on making all our students feel welcome and secure in what is a fantastic learning environment.  We are very proud of what we do at Hadlow College and we are also the only college in Kent to be both Ofsted ‘outstanding’ and an LSIS Beacon provider.

Where are we based?

You’ll find us in Kent, with our main site and administrative headquarters at Hadlow, a beautiful village in the heart of the Kent countryside, near Tonbridge.

Additional campuses are found in Kent at Canterbury and Medway and in South East London at Mottingham and Greenwich.

What Courses do we Offer?

We offer a wide range of courses, from foundation level up to full honours degrees, and land-based apprenticeship routes.  In addition to the academic courses, we also offer a wide range of part time leisure and pleasure courses across all our sites, offered not only during the day but also in the evening and at weekends.  We offer our higher education courses in partnership with the University of Greenwich. Our programmes include foundation degrees and honours degrees in land-based subjects.  This means our students can stay with us when they progress from further to higher education and we also attract students from Kent and the rest of the country to study with us.

Subjects on offer at the College include, Agriculture, Animal Management, Animal Behaviour, Animal Conservation, Brushcutting, Business, Cattle Husbandry, Chainsaw, Conservation, Dog Grooming, Equine Management,  Equine Therapy, Countryside, First Aid, Fisheries Management, Floristry, Forestry and Arboriculture, Garden Design, Garden Management, Greenkeeping, Hedgelaying, Horse Management, Horticulture, Lambing, Land-Based Technology, Land Management, Outdoor Activities, Pesticides, Royal Horticultural Society, Sheep Husbandry, Sheep Management, Sheep Shearing, Teacher Training, Tractor Driving and Welding.

We’re passionate about the land-based sector and work hard to give our students’ careers the best possible start. We focus on providing skills, experience and knowledge to the very highest level and we just couldn’t do it without our top notch facilities and fantastic teachers.

How Many Students do we have?

We have just over 1,200 full time students studying up to Level 3 (Extended Diploma) and over 600 Higher Education Students studying up to Level 6.    In addition, every year we enrol over 1,000 part time students across all campuses, on a range of part time options, from apprenticeships, to Saturday workshops.

In addition, we have visiting school pupils, who attend College one day a week to study land-based qualifications whilst still at school.  These pupils are aged between 15 and 19 and at any time we are working in conjunction with 25 schools to provide training for these young people.

210 students live onsite in Hadlow, either at the main Campus, or in the student residential centre at Grove Farm, near Hadlow.
