Sheep Body Condition Scoring Workshop

Monitoring body condition in sheep is an important management tool for all flock owners and this course is for those wishing to acquire and develop their practical husbandry skills. Ewe and ram body condition at specific times during the production cycle has a significant impact on performance and productivity of both ewes and rams. Making informed decisions about grazing management, supplementary feeding and routine care of the flock requires the quality of information that is provided by the effective monitoring of sheep body condition.

Animal Management Students Get Creative for Wildlife Trust Hedgehog Haven

Back in late April, to coincide with Hedgehog Awareness Week, our Animal Management department ran a competition, in partnership with the Kent Wildlife Trust, for our FE and HE students to produce a new design for the Trust’s ‘Best Garden for Hedgehogs’ award, sponsored by Kent Mammal Group.
