Before commencing your application, please ensure you have the details of two people who can act as references (for a full-time course), one of which ideally should be from your school or college.  You will also be asked to confirm details of any qualifications you're currently taking (such as GCSEs) together with predicted grades.

To apply for part-time courses you will just need to confirm the course, campus, your contact details and payment method.

Please note that for higher education and degree programmes, students need to apply through UCAS.

This is the ideal course if you are a beginner or novice gardener who would like to learn the basics of how to design your own garden. Using a combination of theory and practical sessions, your lecturer Neil will help you test what type of soil you have, which way your garden is facing and what light levels there are. You will then be shown how to match the right plants for the right places in your garden. In a fun and friendly learning environment you will be taken step by step through the stages towards helping you design the garden perfect for you.

Please bring suitable outdoor footwear and wet weather jacket and/or trousers.

Our Horticultural Skills Centre can be found on Shooters Hill directly opposite the turn-in for Eaglesfield Road.

A bus stop (Shooters Hill/Eaglesfield Road) is directly outside the front gate serving routes 89, 486 and N89.
