Before commencing your application, please ensure you have the details of two people who can act as references (for a full-time course), one of which ideally should be from your school or college.  You will also be asked to confirm details of any qualifications you're currently taking (such as GCSEs) together with predicted grades.

To apply for part-time courses you will just need to confirm the course, campus, your contact details and payment method.

Appealing to a wide range of people, from the keen amateur gardener to those already working in the horticulture industry and those keen to progress their career. It is a very practical course with a wide range of units including preparing areas for planting, care of container plants and providing seasonal colour.

The hands on course will be run for one day a week for 20 weeks and you will benefit from practical work at different locations including our other local campuses.

At 20 weeks, this is shorter than the RHS course and is mainly practical with a mix of practical, oral and short written assessments throughout the course managed by your college tutors leading to a nationally recognised qualification.

Suitable career opportunities could be working as a gardener, in a garden centre, nursery, private or public garden, local authority or park.

Progression opportunities are onto the Level 2 Diploma in Horticulture, Level 2 Apprenticeship or dependent on your other qualifications and experience, a Level 3 qualification in horticulture either college or work based.
