Before commencing your application, please ensure you have the details of two people who can act as references (for a full-time course), one of which ideally should be from your school or college.  You will also be asked to confirm details of any qualifications you're currently taking (such as GCSEs) together with predicted grades.

To apply for part-time courses you will just need to confirm the course, campus, your contact details and payment method.

Please note that for higher education and degree programmes, students need to apply through UCAS.

Combined Tree Climbing Course (CS38/39)

Industry Short Courses

Theoretical subjects include equipment selection and inspection, the law relating to tree climbing and tree cutting, tree safety inspections, knots, rescues, first aid and starting and using a chainsaw safely in a tree. The practical aspects of the training includes basic climbing techniques, choice of anchor points, moving around the canopy, branchwalking, rescues, and receiving, starting and using the chainsaw safely. Candidates must successfully achieve Unit 1 (CS38) before undertaking assessment for Unit 2 (CS39). Following successful completion, attendees can go onto study other related forestry and arboriculture courses.

This course is run in partnership with Kingswood Training Services.
