Before commencing your application, please ensure you have the details of two people who can act as references (for a full-time course), one of which ideally should be from your school or college.  You will also be asked to confirm details of any qualifications you're currently taking (such as GCSEs) together with predicted grades.

To apply for part-time courses you will just need to confirm the course, campus, your contact details and payment method.

Please note that for higher education and degree programmes, students need to apply through UCAS.

Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement

Industry Short Courses

Designed for practitioners, this qualification is intended for those who assess both occupational competence in the work environment and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the workplace.  As a replacement for the A1 Assessor Award, it is made up of three units which can be undertaken and accredited individually or together.

The learner will need to be observed and provide evidence of planning and assessment for 2 assessments of 2 learners (4 assessments in total) covering a minimum of 3 assessment methods. Methods include:

• Assessment of learner in simulated environment
• Skill test
• Oral/written Q&A
• Assignments
• Projects
• Case studies
• Recognising prior learning

A subject expert to corroborate the assessment decisions made is also required.  It is the responsibility of the learner on the course to arrange this.
