Subject Area Overview

By studying a sports course at Hadlow College, you will develop leadership skills as well as increase your knowledge of sports injury management and gain a professional coaching qualification.

Our sports courses include a football academy run in conjunction with Charlton Athletic Community Trust, which will give you the chance to increase your skills, play in competitive matches and gain additional qualifications.  The trained sports coaches and lecturers will give you the practical and theoretical knowledge you need for a successful career in the sports sector.

Ultimately, upon finishing your course at Hadlow College, your career in sport could involve roles as diverse as working as a trainer or coach for a professional team or at home and abroad.

Although I had completed my A-Levels at school, upon leaving, I still felt I wasn’t quite ready for university. I did however, want to stay in education. This qualification, alongside the opportunity to improve my football skills through the Tonbridge Angels’ Football Academy, seemed an ideal way to bridge that gap and enhance my knowledge at the same time. The facilities here are excellent. The pitches we play on are of a really high standard – probably one of the best in the league – and the coaches are really knowledgeable. I have really enjoyed playing in the Academy team and the course overall has helped me to develop a better understanding of sport. This will really help me when I’m at university next year studying sports coaching.
