How do you become an Agricultural Engineer?
You can enter into this profession multiple ways including university, college, apprenticeships and work. A level 2 or level 3 Diploma in Land-based Technology or Agricultural Engineering may get you started in this role. At Hadlow College we have a Level 3 in Land-based Technology course which will give you the skills and experience necessary for this role.
What skills will you need?
Skills and knowledge you require to succeed in this role include complex problem-solving skills, knowledge of engineering science and technology, design skills and knowledge, analytical thinking skills and concentration skills.
What will you do in the role?
Day-to-day tasks and duties you may carryout whilst in this career includes assessing the environmental impact of agricultural production methods, supervising building projects, like land drainage, reclamation and irrigation and solving engineering problems, like designing vehicles for all ground and weather conditions.
