- Agricultural Inspector
Agricultural inspectors make sure animal welfare and environmental standards are followed in farms and dairies. Your daily tasks will include analysing data, collecting evidence and writing reports. From this job you could also specialise in areas like public health or conservation - salaries for specialist work can sometimes be higher.
- Agronomist
Agronomists advise farmers on soil management and crop production. Day to day tasks include advising farmers on land management and how to improve their crop yields, to study soil, water and other factors which affect crop growth and to create chemical treatment plans to keep crops free of pests and weeds.
- Rural Surveyors
Rural surveyors value farms and areas of land, plan how land is used and advise clients. Your daily tasks would be to survey and value areas of land like farms and rural buildings, to advise clients on legal and tax issues and to look after accounts, manage applications and produce financial forecasts - this would allow you be progress into specialist areas.
- Agricultural Purchasing Agent
Purchasing agents are sales professionals who buy and sell agricultural products and related raw materials at wholesale. These can be sold to farmers or on their behalf and involves a lot of communication between agricultural professionals and others.
- Feed Mill Manager
Feed mill managers are responsible for the storage, production and supply of animal feed. This involves monitoring and planning inventory levels, scheduling further production or acquisition and inspecting the quality of the feed. They're particularly concerned with quality standards and work actively to promote, develop and maintain them.
