Annual Careers Fair
Hadlow College students and pupils of Hadlow Rural Community School had the unique opportunity to meet an exciting variety of employers and speak to them about organisations and careers in the land-based sector at our Annual Careers Fair. Exhibitors and guest speakers offered advice on careers and progression routes within the industry as well as potential employment, work experience placements and volunteering opportunities.
The RSPB, McTimoney College of Chiropractic & McTimoney Animal Association, British Racing Authority, Palmstead Nurseries and the University of Greenwich were amongst the guest speakers. Exhibitors included New Zealand Dairy Careers, Royal Army Veterinary Corps (including ‘Dude’ - a military working dog), Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, Kent Wildlife Trust, Bradbourne RDA, Baileys Horse Feeds, Institute of Fisheries Management, TreeAbility and Charlton Athletic Community Trust, to name but a few.
Enterprise and business was a key focus with organisations, such Kent Foundation for Young Entrepreneurs, NACUE (National Association of College and University Entrepreneurs) and Barclays, also being present and representatives able to advise students about entrepreneurship and finance. Additionally progression routes and employability were promoted. Apprenticeships were represented by Hadlow College’s Apprenticeships, Business and Community (ABC) Department and 3aaa and Higher Education by the University of Greenwich and the Student Loans Company. MyWorkSearch – the College’s new online careers and employability resource – was also present and engaged students and pupils with an interactive exhibition stand.
With attendee numbers increasing significantly year on year – over 500 visitors attended this year’s event – the Careers Fair continues to go from strength to strength.Go Back
