Hadlow College, an Ofsted outstanding provider, has been confirmed by K College as the preferred provider to take over the running of their Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and Ashford campuses.

Paul Hannan, Principal, Hadlow College shaking hands with Phil Frier, Principal K College Asked by the Skills Minister in December 2013 to find new providers for the college as soon as possible, this decision is the culmination of a process which originally started over 18 months ago.

Commenting on the decision Paul Hannan, the Principal of Hadlow College, said “We have been working on this project for over a year and are thrilled that the Minister of State, Matthew Hancock, has agreed that Hadlow College is the ‘preferred’ partner.  Our ambition is to include the sites as part of the Hadlow College Group, whilst building on the individual brand and status of each campus.  This will be a fantastic opportunity to create ‘outstanding’ provision in each town to mirror that which is provided at Hadlow College"

Phil Frier, the Principal of K College, added “We have the utmost respect for Hadlow College and know that existing and prospective students at K can look forward with confidence to a future with them.  We made a commitment to students, their families and employers from the outset that no matter what name their College has, their education would continue; we are proud to have delivered that.”

This decision, which has been welcomed by council leaders in Ashford, Tonbridge and Malling and Tunbridge Wells, marks the start of six months of work before the new, enlarged, Hadlow College Group launches on 1st August 2014.  It is anticipated that the College transfer of business will not adversely affect students but rather will enable students, parents and businesses to benefit from the innovative educational strategy, and strong student-centric focus, for which Hadlow College is renowned.
