Hadlow College Students Enjoy GCSE Success

Posted on 24th August 2017 in

Against a backdrop of the new GCSE framework where overall pass rates have fallen nationally, students across the three colleges that comprise the Hadlow Group have outperformed their peers with a higher pass rates than last year.

Benefiting from smaller class sizes and dedicated support, with the delivery personalised to the students’ needs, current level and vocational subject area, the students at the colleges achieved an increase in both maths and English.  These subjects were completed alongside their main vocational study programme and they represent a crucial element to ensure that all students who complete their courses have been given the skills and experiences necessary for a successful career.

Commenting on the success, Mark Lumsdon-Taylor, the Deputy Principal and CEO, said “these results are really positive for the Group, the students concerned and those students who are looking to join us this coming September. GCSEs present a real challenge for the FE sector as a whole, which is why it is especially pleasing that, against falling pass rates, we have once again bucked the trend and improved our year on year position.”
