Hadlow College’s ABC Department Celebrate Success Rates
The Apprenticeship, Business and Communities (ABC) department at Hadlow College is celebrating a workplace training success rate far in excess of the national average.
With over 150 students currently on some form of land-based apprenticeship/workplace training programme, it was recently confirmed that the College’s overall success rate for 2013 was 86%. This is the third year in a row that this figure has improved and represents a significant achievement over the 72% national average. These figures represent the percentage of learners achieving an Apprenticeship.
This however, is just one measure of quality. A recent student induction survey rated the department as friendly, helpful, informative and knowledgeable; over 81% of students stated that they thought this area of the College is good or outstanding, with the tutors complimented on the fact that they listen to the views of the students.
During 2013 the ABC department expanded its range of courses to include the Fruit Management Supervisory Programme (launched with a pilot group studying Level 3 qualifications), they offered a number of introductory horticulture courses, in the Royal Borough of Greenwich and expanded their short course provision.
As well as Apprenticeships ABC will also shortly be offering Traineeships, which can last from 6 weeks up to 6 months, including work preparation, a work placement (focused on the skills required by employers) and support with literacy and numeracy.
