Two Hadlow College students have been selected to play for the Kent Barbarians Rugby Squad for 2012/2013.

For the last three seasons Kent RFU has been developing a programme for colleges and sixth forms called the “Kent Barbarians”.  The programme is designed to give representative Rugby to a selected squad of players from FE & 6th Forms.  Games will be played against stronger than average teams and training will be provided by RFU coaches.  The whole programme is funded by Kent RFU with the selected players asked to give as close to a 100% commitment as possible.

After two rounds of trials involving players from all of the colleges and sixth forms across Kent, the two successful Hadlow College players were Matthew Lafferty and Jamie Baier.  With competition for places extremely high, it is obviously a great achievement for both students to be selected.

Matthew is currently in his first year of the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Agriculture course and Jamie is a first year student on the FdSc Fisheries Management degree programme.
