Hadlow Students Muck In for Activity Days at Betteshanger
This spring marked the first collaboration between Hadlow College and Betteshanger Sustainable Parks, when nine students ran events for visitors during the Park’s week of Activity Days from 4-8 April.
The first and second year Level 3 BTEC Outdoor Activities students supervised activities for 8-14 year olds, such as obstacle courses, archery, den building and geo-caching as part of their mandatory work experience and course project work on impact and sustainability.
Many members of the public took to Facebook to express their admiration for the students, with one person commenting that were great role models who did the college proud and built up a really good rapport with the children.
Betteshanger Park’s General Manager, Lorraine Cheesmur, said: “The Hadlow students have been fantastic, the week has been a great success – with 104 people taking part - and visitors have really enjoyed themselves. We intend to harness any future opportunities to get Hadlow Group students involved in our events here at Betteshanger.”
