Meet Tyler Brabham, ABC Apprentice of the Month!
Tyler Brabham, 20, studying for a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Greenkeeping from Lydd Golf Club is the worthy winner of the latest ABC apprentice of the month award.
Tyler joined the Lydd Golf Club early 2016 on a work placement scheme from THE MACH charity, whose aim is to assist young people to enter the workplace. Lydd Golf Club were looking to employ someone locally within the rural community and close links with THE MACH charity have really supported Tyler’s progress. Lydd Golf Club, situated next to Lydd Airport, has an 18-hole golf course as well as a driving range.
Tyler said: “I’m really proud to have received this award and would like to thank everyone at Lydd Golf Club for supporting me throughout my apprenticeship. The club are great at giving me targets, supporting me with my English and maths and lastly providing advice to keep me moving forward.”
Tyler was nominated for the award by Accountant and Human Resource Manager, Adele Bunge, who has been delighted with his achievement. “I would just like to mention I have been very pleased with Tyler’s overall progress, I have noticed improvement in his confidence, social skills and advancement in his all-round practical ability, and we would be lost without him! It is difficult to put into writing how much this young man has grown. Tyler is now taking ownership of tasks and it was with great pride that we recommended him for the award.”
When asked about his future aspirations, Tyler has clear goals: “I would like to see how the golf course develops and I can see myself developing here. I also want to progress within the industry but right now I am happy to progress at Lydd Golf Club.”
