National Farmers Union First Aid Training for our Agriculture Students
A group of 38 Agriculture students studying towards the Level 2 Diploma and Level 3 Extended Diploma in Agriculture benefited from attending first aid training provided free of charge by NFU Mutual, with the assistance of the St Johns Ambulance.
Two 4 hour sessions took place in our lecture theatre and involved speeches, demonstrations and hands on practical training, teaching different first aid techniques with a focus on saving lives within the agricultural industry. Students were trained on first response including bandaging; cuts and abrasions; CPR; putting a casualty into the recovery position and choking
After completing the course each student left with a first response three year first aid qualification from St Johns Ambulance and a farm safety awareness pack.
It was a very successful and useful day, which we are planning to run as an annual event for the benefit of future students.
