Princess Christian’s Farm Students Help to Flush Away Poverty

Posted on 7th September 2016 in General

Our students at Princess Christian’s Farm held a fundraising event to raise money for Toilet Twinning, a scheme which funds the work of leading relief charity Tearfund and their global partners to provide people in the poorest communities on the planet with a decent toilet, clean water and hygiene education.

The students held a ‘Toilets for Toasties’ event, making and selling cheese toasties during the morning tea break to raise the funds. Currently, they have raised the money to build 3 toilets – in Kabale District, Uganda, Aldea San Juan Moca, Guatemala and Dwie, Liberia - and will be soon sending off money for another 3 toilets to be built.

This leaves them with a target of 3 more toilets to complete their challenge.
