Students Decorate Ightham Mote

Posted on 23rd November 2014 in Floristry

A group of Level 3 Floristry students recently visited Ightham Mote for a day of garland making to decorate the buildings for their Christmas display.

As well as seasonal materials such as holly and ivy, the garlands also featured a range of festive treats including oranges (which symbolises prosperity and the hope of a brighter future), cloves and cinnamon; all traditional Christmas treats with a distinctly festive smell.  The students decorated the buildings, courtyard and even the dog kennel!

Ightham Mote described the display as absolutely stunning, saying that our students had carried out a beautiful job and were so tidy.  The Ightham Mote house team were very grateful and are now making the house ready for Christmas.

One student comment:  “We enjoyed coming to Ightham Mote and making the garlands as part of their Christmas decorations for visitors to enjoy.  It was a long day, but we got the garlands up with the help of the Ightham Mote team, and look forward to hearing what visitors think about them.”
