Hadlow College enjoyed another successful South of England Show.

The Hadlow College farm team recently spent 3 days at the South of England show and entered into a number of classes with the following results.

In the Crystal clear Stanley cup Cookie was place 3rd in Maiden Heifer

Hadlow Caliber Joy was placed 2nd in Incalf Heifer

Reymerr Fever Denise 3 was placed 5th in Heifer inmilk

Hadlow Baxter Avril, really did prove to be a ‘Super Dairy Cow’ being highly placed in 4 classes:
1st in Incalf/Dry Cow
3rd in 11000kg Cow
1st in Recorded/Inspection
1st in Super Dairy Cow

These are excellent results and show the high quality of our Dairy heard and are a true reflection of how hard our College farm team work to produce such good quality animals.

The College stands were very busy throughout the event with enquiries from the public, who were also able to enjoy a variety of demonstrations, including chainsaw carving by Alasdair Craig and our Forestry and Arboriculture students.

Land Based Technology students ran the ‘Digger Challenge’ stand, where members of the public could test their digger driving skills.

As well as representing the College as student Ambassadors, Land Based Technology students used their time at the show learning how to erect post and rail fencing; they then went on to complete the fencing around the around the Digger Challenge and Forestry and Arboriculture Chainsaw carving area.

On display was a brand new John Deere Tractor (supplied by Burden Brothers) and also a Massey Ferguson 35 which our Land Based Technology students have restored.

The next county show you can visit us at is the Kent County show Fri 11th, Sat 12th, Sun 13th July 2014.
