Success at the Edenbridge & Oxted Agricultural Show
It has been a busy summer for our Agriculture department, following all of their activity and involvement at the Kent County Show, the focus shifted to the Edenbridge & Oxted Agricultural Show.
Taking place over the August Bank Holiday day weekend, the two-day countryside event based in Lingfield, Surrey, was held on a showground the size of ten Wembley Stadiums and combined all the favourites of a traditional agricultural show. Our stand was busy as always with enquiries from members of the public asking about our courses.
Crawfords of Ashford provided a beast of a Fendt 939 tractor to enhance the stand and promote the relationship between the dealership and the College. Whilst in the Vintage section they kindly loaned the College a Challenger Rogator, demonstrating the progress farm implementation has gone through over the years. Both of these mighty monsters of agriculture took to the parade ring on Monday 31st August to highlight the College and modern machinery in the Agricultural industry.
Our Dairy Herd Manager, Mike Deakins had success showing our cows assisted by Agriculture students Kaitlyn Lewis, Lily Adams, April Baldock and Molly Fosgate.
