Hadlow College was nominated alongside other Colleges and Academies for the Floristry Training Provider of the Year at the BFA Industry Awards 2022. The awards are hosted by the British Floral Association and are held every year to recognise and celebrate people and organisations within the floristry industry.
Nominations were submitted earlier in the year and after nearly 10,000 votes the finalists in each category were chosen. The votes are all made by BFA members, which are made up of individual florists, floristry tutors and education providers, high street, event florists and other professionals in the sector. There are several knock out stages in this process and Hadlow College made the final cut! This is a huge achievement for Hadlow College and our Floristry Department, showcasing the high standard and commitment our lecturers have to our Floristry courses.
Cath Mitchell, Lecturer in Floristry, said " It is a huge privilege to be nominated for the BFA Awards and to find out we had been shortlisted and were in the final was fantastic news for the department. We are a small department that works incredibly hard to provide the best opportunities and outcomes for our students' future. We strive to use the best fresh and varied materials to allow the students to create their designs to their highest level. The nominations themselves come from BFA members which are made up from students, past and present, education providers, floral businesses and industry partners and it is brilliant that Hadlow College Floristry Department made an impact on them to make them want to vote for us"
