Ex Hadlow student, Megan Lena Hutchinson is taking part in The Wincanton Charity horse race on the 24th October 2021 to raise money for Racing Welfare.
Megan studied Level 3 Extended Diploma in Horse Management from 2017 to 2018, and has since been working for Milton Harris Racing, where she rides out around 3-7 lots a day and carries out duties such as caring for four horses. As well as this Megan travels across the country taking horses to the races!
Megan said, ‘I have been in the horse racing industry full time now for roughly almost 3 years and have experienced amazing opportunities such as - riding on the gallops every day, regular schooling and working the horses, a racecourse gallop and going to the races regularly. I thoroughly enjoy my job (especially the riding) and decided that it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to take part in this charity race and with the fantastic support from everyone, I decided why not and give it a go!’
Racing Welfare is a registered charity supporting the workforce of British horseracing. They offer professional guidance and practical help to the stud, stable and racecourse staff whose dedication is vital for the well-being of racing. Their work aims to help people, from recruitment to retirement, to thrive in day-to-day life and through a range of life’s challenges.
