"I set up my own business, Wild Pickings, selling seasonal foraged wild foods. I focus on plant ID, gathering, teaching and also on cooking, preparing and eating wild food."

Jade Mellor - Professional Forager, West Wales

After spending some time volunteering on organic farms in Australia, I decided I wanted to work with the land. I wanted practical experience, so chose to study at Hadlow. Studying horticulture was the first step on my journey to working with plants as a profession, giving me confidence to get an allotment and a solid foundation to build upon. I moved to Wales 12 years ago, working as a land agent, selling woodland alongside working part-time gathering wild herbs for a local forager. 8 years ago, I set up my own business, Wild Pickings, selling seasonal foraged wild foods. I focus on plant ID, gathering, teaching and also on cooking, preparing and eating wild food.
