Clearing – Your Path to a Place at Hadlow College
We understand that A Level results can be a stressful time, and if you didn’t achieve the grades you were hoping for—or have had a change of heart about your course choice—don’t worry! We’re here to guide you through the Clearing process and help you find your place in higher education.
What is Clearing?
Clearing offers you another chance to secure a place at university or college if you haven’t yet applied or didn’t achieve the grades you needed for your first choice. Available between July and September, thousands of students successfully find a place each year through this process, giving you the opportunity to start your degree studies.
How Does Clearing Work?
It’s important to remember that Clearing is a competitive process, so it’s essential to research early and be ready to act quickly once your results are released. Don’t worry if you don’t want to apply for the same course you originally chose—you may want to explore a new direction or course of study. Just make sure to clarify why you're changing your path when contacting the universities or colleges you’re interested in.
- Step 1: Find a course you’re interested in and visit the University of Greenwich website for more.
- Step 2: Based on your grades, we will either offer you a place immediately or suggest a suitable alternative course.
- Step 3: Log in to your UCAS Track system and add us as your institution of choice to secure your place.
Who Can Use Clearing?
You can apply for Clearing if:
- You didn’t receive any offers
- You declined your offers or failed to respond by the deadline
- You didn’t meet the conditions of your offers (e.g., you didn’t achieve the required grades)
- You declined a changed course, date of entry, or point of entry
- You applied for one course and were unsuccessful or had your offer declined
- UCAS received your application after 30th June and has not yet sent it to universities
