How to Apply for Higher Education Programmes

All full-time higher education students must apply online through UCAS (University and Colleges Admissions Service). Paper applications are no longer accepted, so everything is managed quickly and securely online.

Step 1: Register on UCAS Apply

Start by registering at www.ucas.com/apply. If you’re applying through a school or college, they may provide you with a buzzword to link your application to their system.

Step 2: Complete Your Application

  • If applying through a school or college: Once you’ve filled out the form, submit it to your referee. They’ll review your application, add a reference, and send it to UCAS on your behalf.
  • If applying independently: You’ll be asked to answer additional questions as part of your application. You’ll also need to provide a reference from someone who knows you well enough to write about your abilities and potential.

Step 3: Save and Return as Needed

Good news—there’s no need to rush! Your application doesn’t have to be completed in one go. Use your username and password to log in and update your form as many times as necessary before submitting.

Step 4: Submit and Pay

Once your application is complete:

  • Review carefully: After submission, you can’t add or change any information.
  • Make your payment: The application fee can be paid online using a credit or debit card.

When to Apply

Some of our programmes fill up quickly, so we strongly advise applying as early as possible to secure your place.

Still deciding? Don’t worry—University Centre Hadlow, in partnership with the University of Greenwich, will consider late applications wherever possible if places are still available.

What Happens Next?

After submission and payment, your application will be sent directly to your chosen universities and colleges for consideration. From there, the decision-making process begins!
