Are you having second thoughts about Sixth Form? Don’t worry it still isn’t too late to join us at Hadlow College this September.

Regardless of what you are studying now, we have many options for you to choose from including our rural and land-based courses and apprenticeships which will give you multiple employability skills.

What courses do we have to offer?

HAD Horticulture students with drone in orchard crop

As Kent’s only rural and land-based college we offer a huge range of courses to suit the needs of many different students.

Our courses cover: Agriculture (livestock, arable, fruit and vegetables), Horticulture (glasshouse production, fruit and vegetables, viticulture, greenkeeping and ornamental production), Gardening, Agricultural Engineering, Aquaculture & Fisheries Management, Equine, Animal Management, Floristry and Land and Wildlife Management.

All of our full-time courses include a significant amount of work experience carried out in the workplace.

This helps you develop the appropriate skills and knowledge related to the sector and also helps create links to the industry that you can utilise after finishing the course.

What are Apprenticeships?

An apprenticeship is a real job, where you can develop your skills, knowledge and behaviours in your chosen profession.

If you are an apprentice, you spend 20% of your working hours in training and development, which is often with us at college, or sometimes in your workplace. The remaining 80% of your time is spent in your workplace applying the skills and knowledge you are learning in a working environment.

We offer apprenticeships in many sectors ranging from Horticulture Landscape to Golf Course Manager.

Why swap to Hadlow College?

HAD CAMPUS SIGN AMU crop

There are a whole number of reasons why you should consider switching to Hadlow College, but here are just three:

  • The campus is set in the beautiful surroundings of a large managed estate that includes over 265 acres of prime arable land, woodland, a cross-country course, sports facilities, natural river, three commercial farms, established show gardens and horticultural glasshouses, lakes and other natural habitats.
  • We have invested heavily in state-of-the-art facilities such as our ‘concept orchard and vineyard’ that showcases the latest technology, including automated AI management systems, innovative crop diversity, cleaner storage and robotic fruit picking.
  • Our tutors have worked in the industry that they specialise in, so you will learn from the very best and they also have multiple industry connections.

We also provide Higher Education courses for those looking to progress after their Further Education Course and offer residential options that allow you to live on site.

So if you are feeling that your current academic chapter is not quite right for you or if you need a change of scene, why not get in touch?
