BSc (Hons) Equine Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation
"The BSc (Hons) Equine Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation course was extremely important in securing my employment."
Charlotte Abbott - Owner, Abbott Equine Therapy
The first course I studied at Hadlow College was the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management, passing this course gave me the grades I required to progress onto a BSc. I applied for the BSc (Hons) Equine Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation and this led me onto the perfect path to pursue a career in the equine industry as a therapist.
Equine Biomechanics was my favourite module and due to the wide range of facilities at the College, such as the hydrotherapy units and gait analysis systems, I was able to understand the subject practically and theoretically.
My most memorable experience from the course must be when I completed my findings for my dissertation. This included a sports motion camera, which recorded footage of the horses, so that I could analyse the range of motion of both the forelimbs and hind limbs of the horse. Due to the commitment required and the success of gaining my findings, it was most memorable.
I run my own business, as an Equine Sports Massage Therapist (Abbott Equine Therapy). The BSc (Hons) Equine Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation course was extremely important in securing my employment. I have gained FEI approval and I am also a Trainee Pet Insurance Assessor. My career highlights have been working with many different clients, vets and rehabilitation successes, which have all contributed to my FEI approval.
My advice to anyone wanting to pursue this profession is to keep going and see your training through to the end for a very rewarding career.
