BSc (Hons) Equine Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation

"The facilities offered were fantastic and I even brought my own horse along for a rehabilitation programme to help aid his recovery."

Taylor Marsh - Owner, Taylormade Equine Services

chose to study at Hadlow College because it was the most local University course, which meant I could stay at home with my own horses.  The course also offered everything I was interested in.  As part of the course we had to undertake an additional qualification, which was my sports massage certificate, which allowed me to build a basis for my own business.  The amount of practical lessons were my favourite aspect and I also made some good long term friends.  The facilities offered were fantastic and I even brought my own horse along for a rehabilitation programme to help aid his recovery.

I now run my own business (Taylormade Equine Services) offering equine and rider services, including sports therapy for both horse and rider, as well as teaching, clipping and alternative therapies.  Career highlights to date have been meeting new clients and being able to help fulfil their needs, therefore, supporting them to achieve their own personal goals.

Being self-employed involves long days and the need to be flexible.  It takes a while to build a regular client base and you have to factor this into your earnings.  Always carry on with CPD days, which allow you to keep up to date and be able to offer new services to keep ahead of your competitors.
