This weekend saw another successful Edenbridge and Oxted Show for Hadlow College, in more ways than one!

Not only was the College’s marquee buzzing with visitors across the two-day show, it was also named the best in its category at the event!

Our marquee highlighted the College’s status as Kent’s biggest rural and land-based College and showcased several of our subject areas. It featured a model horse and cow (that could be ‘milked’, which proved particularly popular with children!), a ‘Name That Fish Quiz’ board, boxes of delicious tomatoes grown in our state-of-the-art glasshouses and more.

It impressed judges enough to be named as the Best Agricultural and Horticultural Trade Stand, from a multitude across the event

Adjoining the College’s marquee was the National Centre for Reptile Welfare’s (NCRW) stand. Based at Hadlow College, the NCRW is the first of its type in the United Kingdom and provides refuge and care for over 1,000 unwanted and vulnerable reptiles and amphibians. The stand was also very popular with visitors who took the opportunity to handle some of the NCRW’s numerous snakes and reptiles that were in attendance!

Held across the August Bank Holiday weekend, the Edenbridge and Oxted Agricultural Show attracts around 40,000 people each year and showcases and celebrates farming, rural life and the finest food and drink from across the South-East and beyond.
