Hadlow College held a successful careers fair enabling current students to explore their options after their time at college.
The purpose of the fair is to give students the opportunity to network with potential employers as well as find out about possible work experience and volunteering placements. A variety of Higher Education providers also gave the students a chance to find out about degree level qualifications and the various courses available. The event proves mutually beneficial to employers who are looking to take on Apprentices and current students once they have completed their qualifications with us at Hadlow College.
The event saw hundreds of students attend to talk to various organisations from different sectors. This included Kent Police, RSPCA, Bird Wise East Kent, British Horse Society, Thanet Earth, University of Kent, ASK – Amazing Apprenticeships, Autotech Group, Hugh Lowe Farms and many more! The feedback received from both students and employers was extremely positive, many employers will be returning next year to talk to the next cohort of students.
Lucy Wright Careers Officer said, “The 2023 Annual Careers Fair was a great success with exhibitors representing a broad range of land-based career pathways. Student engagement was excellent with over 260 attendees visiting throughout the event. The Royal Veterinary Corps stand proved particularly popular, along with “Pigs”, the Army dog who impressed Animal Management students with various search demonstrations.”
She continued, “This was also the first year we welcomed motor vehicle companies to the Hadlow College Careers Fair and one of the exhibitors, Autotech Group brought along a rider from British Superbikes to speak to students before they attended the Fair itself.’
